Our Mission

Tool Stack exists to give every person on the internet access to fast, reliable utility tools โ€” completely free, with zero friction. Whether you are a developer crunching hex values at midnight, a student converting units for a physics assignment, or a professional calculating loan repayments before a meeting, our goal is the same: give you the answer in seconds without asking for your email address, your payment details, or your patience.

We believe that utility software should be a public good. The kind of everyday calculations and conversions people need dozens of times a week should not be locked behind paywalls, cluttered with dark-pattern sign-up flows, or slow because a site is loading several megabytes of JavaScript just to add two numbers together. The web was built on the idea of freely sharing information and tools, and we are committed to honouring that original spirit.

Every tool on Tool Stack runs entirely inside your web browser. There is no server receiving your input, no database storing your data, and no account to create. You open the page, use the tool, and close the tab. That is it. The only data that ever stays on your device is your optional color theme preference and a short list of recently used tools, stored locally in your browser.

Why We Built This

Tool Stack grew out of everyday frustration. The internet is full of online utility sites, but most of them share the same problems: they are bloated and slow, they are cluttered with advertisements that obscure the actual tool, or they require you to create an account before performing the simplest calculation. Some sites send your data to a remote server unnecessarily, raising legitimate privacy concerns โ€” especially when you are working with sensitive figures like salary calculations, medical measurements, or detailed financial projections.

We wanted something different. We started by building the tools we personally needed most: a quick unit converter that loaded instantly on a slow connection, a date calculator that did not redirect us through three pages of unrelated content first, a text case converter that worked without a CAPTCHA. One tool became five, five became twenty, and twenty grew into the collection you see today covering math, finance, unit conversion, text manipulation, developer utilities, date and time tools, color tools, image tools, and health calculators.

The design philosophy was set from the very beginning: keep it minimal, keep it fast, keep it private. Every tool we add is evaluated against those three criteria before it goes live. If a feature cannot be implemented cleanly inside a browser without sending data off-device, we either find a way to do it locally or we do not build it at all. This constraint has shaped the entire architecture of the site and is something we are proud of.

We are also committed to accessibility and cross-device compatibility. Tools should work on any device, in any modern browser, on any connection speed. We test on desktop, tablet, and mobile. We support both light and dark mode with a single click. We use semantic HTML throughout so that screen readers and assistive technologies function correctly on every page.

Our Core Values

These four principles guide every decision we make โ€” from which tools to build next, to how we structure a single function in JavaScript.

Speed

Pages load in under a second. Tools respond instantly to input. We keep third-party dependencies to an absolute minimum and optimize every asset. Your time is valuable and we never waste it.

Privacy

Your input data is never sent to any server. All processing happens locally in your browser. We store only your theme preference and recently-used tools in localStorage, only on your own device, and only to improve your experience.

Simplicity

Every tool has a single, clear purpose. The interface is clean and never competes with the content. If something does not need to be on the page, it is not on the page. Complexity is the enemy of usability.

Reliability

Calculations are accurate and independently verified against established formulas. We document our methodologies. When you get a result from Tool Stack, you can trust it โ€” and if you ever find an error, we fix it quickly.

What You Will Find Here

Tool Stack covers nine major categories, each containing multiple purpose-built tools. Here is a summary of what is available:

  • Math Tools โ€” percentage calculators, prime number checker, factorial, GCD, LCM, square root, exponent, and number base converters.
  • Financial Tools โ€” loan EMI calculator, compound interest, simple interest, and other currency-neutral financial planning utilities.
  • Unit Converters โ€” length, weight, temperature, volume, speed, area, data storage, and energy โ€” covering both metric and imperial systems.
  • Text Tools โ€” word count, character count, text case converters (upper, lower, title, sentence), lorem ipsum generator, whitespace cleaner, line sorter, and duplicate line remover.
  • Developer Tools โ€” Base64 encoder/decoder, URL encoder/decoder, JSON formatter and validator, HTML entity encoder, SHA hash generators, and color format converters.
  • Date & Time Tools โ€” age calculator, days between dates, date format converter, add days to a date, countdown to date, week number finder, working days calculator, and world clock.
  • Color Tools โ€” color picker, HEX to RGB and HSL converter, and WCAG contrast ratio checker.
  • Image Tools โ€” client-side image resizing and format conversion, all processed entirely in the browser with no file upload to any server.
  • Health Tools โ€” BMI calculator, BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calculator, and other general wellness reference calculators.

We add new tools regularly based on user requests and our own day-to-day needs. If there is a tool you would like to see, we would genuinely love to hear about it โ€” visit our contact page and send us a suggestion.

Who We Are

Tool Stack is maintained by a small independent team of developers and designers who are passionate about building software that genuinely respects the people using it. We are not a venture-backed startup chasing growth metrics or planning a pivot to a subscription model. We are people who use these tools ourselves every single day and care deeply about making them as useful and trustworthy as they can be.

Because we are a lean team, we focus on quality over quantity. Every tool is built thoughtfully, tested across devices and browsers, and iterated on based on real feedback from real users. We do not ship features for the sake of shipping features, and we do not add complexity that does not serve a clear purpose.

The site is funded entirely through Google AdSense advertising. We have implemented ads in the most minimal way we could โ€” you will see a limited number of clearly labeled advertisements that never obscure or interfere with the tool you are trying to use. Ads allow us to keep every tool permanently free without asking you for anything in return, which is exactly the way we want it.

We are always happy to hear from users. Whether you want to report a bug, suggest a new tool, flag an incorrect calculation, or simply tell us how you use the site, our contact page is always open.
