Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025. We are committed to being transparent about the limited data we collect and how we use it.
Overview
Tool Stack ("we", "us", "our") operates the website toolstack.co.in (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We have written this policy to be as clear and straightforward as possible.
Our core privacy commitment is simple: the data you enter into any Tool Stack tool is never sent to our servers. All tool calculations and processing happen entirely inside your web browser on your own device. We do not log your inputs, we do not store your results, and we do not transmit your data to any party for processing purposes.
Please read this policy in full to understand all the ways data may be collected on this site, including through third-party advertising services. If you have any questions, you can contact us at admin@toolstack.co.in.
Information We Collect
We collect very little information directly. Here is a breakdown of the different types of data that may be collected when you use Tool Stack:
Information You Provide Voluntarily
If you contact us via the contact page or by email, we will receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not added to any marketing list or shared with third parties.
Automatically Collected Technical Data
Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure may log basic technical information when your browser makes a request for a page. This can include your IP address, the browser type and version you are using, the referring URL (if any), the pages requested, and the date and time of the request. This data is used solely for operational purposes such as diagnosing server errors and understanding general traffic patterns. It is not used to identify individual users and is not retained longer than necessary.
Data Entered Into Tools
The numbers, text, files, or other input you provide when using any tool on this site are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. This data is never transmitted to our servers. It is held temporarily in your browser's memory while you are using the tool and is discarded when you navigate away or close the tab. We have no access to it and it is never stored anywhere.
How We Use Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) for two specific first-party purposes:
- Theme preference โ When you switch between light mode and dark mode, your choice is saved to localStorage so the site remembers it on your next visit. This data never leaves your device.
- Recently used tools โ We keep a short list of the tools you have used recently so we can display them conveniently on the homepage. This list is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.
You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or localStorage for toolstack.co.in through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.
We do not set first-party cookies for tracking, analytics, or session management purposes. However, third-party services used on the site โ specifically Google AdSense โ do set their own cookies, as described in the section below.
Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
Tool Stack uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Advertising revenue allows us to maintain and develop the site while keeping all tools free for everyone.
When you visit a page that contains an AdSense advertisement, Google may:
- Set cookies in your browser, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve you relevant ads based on your browsing history and interests across the web.
- Use your IP address and browser information to determine your approximate geographic location for ad targeting purposes.
- Measure ad performance and frequency โ for example, to avoid showing you the same ad repeatedly.
- Personalize ads based on your past visits to this and other websites that participate in the Google Display Network.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to Tool Stack and/or other sites on the internet. This is standard practice for ad-supported websites.
You have several options for controlling Google's advertising cookies:
- Visit Google Ads Settings to opt out of personalized advertising from Google.
- Visit AboutAds.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
- Use your browser's cookie controls to block or delete third-party cookies entirely.
For more information about how Google collects and uses data, please review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Processing & How Tool Calculations Work
This section explains the technical reality of how Tool Stack processes data, because we want users to understand exactly what happens to their inputs.
All tool logic on this site is written in client-side JavaScript. When you enter a value into a tool โ whether it is a number for a percentage calculation, a piece of text to be converted, a date, a color code, or an image file โ that value is read by JavaScript code running inside your browser. The JavaScript performs the calculation and displays the result, all without any network request to our servers.
This architecture was chosen deliberately, for two reasons. First, it is significantly faster โ there is no round-trip delay waiting for a server response. Second, and more importantly, it means your data cannot be intercepted in transit, logged on a server, or accessed by us or any party other than yourself.
Image tools on this site use the HTML5 Canvas API and the File API to process image files entirely within the browser. Images you select are read into memory in your browser, processed, and made available for download โ no file is ever uploaded to any server.
User-Inputted Data
To be absolutely clear about what happens to data you enter into Tool Stack tools:
- It is processed locally in your browser โ never sent to any server.
- It is held in memory only for as long as you are actively using the tool on that page.
- It is not saved to localStorage, IndexedDB, or any other persistent browser storage.
- It is not accessible to us, to Google, or to any other third party.
- It is permanently gone when you navigate away from the page or close the tab.
This applies to all categories of tools: math, financial, text, developer, date, color, image, unit conversion, and health. In every case, your input data is private to you and is never transmitted, stored, or shared.
Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have specific rights regarding personal data under laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or similar legislation in other jurisdictions.
These rights may include:
- Right of access โ the right to know what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification โ the right to have inaccurate data corrected.
- Right to erasure โ the right to request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to object โ the right to object to certain types of data processing.
- Right to data portability โ the right to receive your data in a portable format.
- Right to withdraw consent โ where processing is based on consent, the right to withdraw it at any time.
Because we collect minimal personal data and tool inputs are never stored, there is very little data for us to provide, correct, or delete in response to most requests. However, if you have contacted us by email or through our contact form, we hold the data from that correspondence and will respond to any request regarding it within 30 days.
To exercise any of your rights, please contact us at admin@toolstack.co.in.
Children's Privacy
Tool Stack is a general-purpose utility website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete that information from our records.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, in the services we use, or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
